you could look at the bright side...your dad is well beyond the fifty mark and still going strong. holy crap, he's in better shape than i am. AND THAT'S TOUGH!
The other silver lining is they lived nearly twice as long as the 'de facto' pop icons -- Hendrix, Joplin, Cobain, Morrison, etc. Hell, they even got 14 more years than Bob. Bummer just the same.
