damn...

Now I'm not known for my extravagant tastes. In fact, I've been trying to live as cheap as I can.

That said, I've always fancied a nice watch. Nothing gaudy or over-the-top. Just a high-quality timepiece that can stand the test of time (no pun intended). Perhaps a watch I could pass on to a child someday. You know, heirloom-style.

So I was browsing around, and damn it if I didn't find a nice watch. Behold the Omega Speedmaster Day-Date. Beautiful, isn't it?

Well, it was beautiful until I researched the price. $2,500...for a watch.

Naturally, my brain instantly switched to its built-in conversion calculator: X dollars = Y old British motorcycles.

Maybe my future heir would appreciate a 1969 Triumph T100R Daytona more than a watch.

Still, it's a damn fine piece of time-telling machinery.
